Frequently Asked Questions – ‘Zone 3’ Dance
Do we have to bring a drink or snack?
Each class is 60 minutes; we recommend bringing a bottled drink/ water. If you or your child is participating in 2 or more classes, you may also wish to bring a light snack i.e. fruit, energy bar etc, however we do have a no nut policy due to allergies which we would appreciate your help by not sending in any snacks containing nuts. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Do we have to buy Zone 3 Dance Uniform and why?
Zone 3 Dance colours are plain black and purple.
The branded black T-shirt is compulsory for all children and teens, to be worn with plain black joggers/leggings.
Adults are welcome to wear something they can move comfortably in – joggers, leggings, t-shirts etc.
Jazz shoes and/ or dance trainers should be worn for all Street Dance Classes; students need to move their feet safely and comfortably and teachers can see the shape of their feet. Boots, crocs, sandals etc. are not safe footwear for dance; if they are worn, students will be asked to remove them and work in bare feet. This is a ‘Zone 3’ Dance policy.
For Tap Dance Classes, please wear tap shoes. There is a wide variety available; we recommend Teletone tap shoes, available from all good dance stockists. T- shirts and jazz shoes can be ordered from Reception or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to place an order, items will be ready to collect from Reception the following week.
Peeking in classes/ Teacher Feedback?
We know it seems mean that we won’t allow you to ‘peek’ or watch a class. Please remember it is not just your child in there. We encourage all our students to express themselves and be creative – this is hard with an audience at a stage where you are new and trying things out. We would prefer to show you when students are ready and proud of what they have created. You are always welcome to speak to the teachers and myself to ask how your child is doing.
We will keep in touch with you via our News Board, regular newsletters and reminder memos given out at the end of classes, plus occasional texts and emails. Please make sure we have your up to date home address, mobile number, email address and any other contact number in case of emergency.
We update Facebook every week of forthcoming news, events and photos, so please ‘like’ the page – ‘Zone 3’ Dance Centre.
Can we stay forever?
Yes! Once you sign up with us, that place is yours for life. We have students with us from the age of 4, there is no upper limit! We will assume you are coming back term after term, however if you will not be for any reason, please inform Reception by the last day of the current Term to avoid a fees in lieu of notice charge.
